The SJC Interagency Wildland Team is a collaboration with SJC Fire Chiefs, SJC Sheriff, SJC Dispatch, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) along with the SJC Interagency Wildland Response Team.
Overview
With support of SJC Chiefs, local wildland coordinators, and Northwest Region DNR Managers, development of a county wildland team is intended to increase the depth of response to any given local wildfire incident.
Mission Statement
To provide a deeper wildfire response level for the greater island community, supporting fire agencies and outer island communities in providing highly trained personnel. Other elements of the team mission include providing wildfire training to agency personnel; supporting outer island community members with skills development; and providing support to existing Firewise and Ready, Set, Go programs.
